My neice Amanda Stafford-Johnson's husband Chess as you may know had be in Iraq and was injured while he was there. Many of you have not had the pleasure to meet Chess but he is as fine man with high moral values and has heroic attributes. While he was in a battle a sniper to a shot and hit the scope of the weapon Chess was using. Splitting the bullet into two pieces, one fragment went into his right eye and the other fragment was lodged between his skull and skin on the right side of his head. During part of his recovery at Walter Reed Medical Center President G.W. Bush and Mrs. Bush came to visit him and of course Amanda offering thier support. Chess is now recovering at home in Olympia and being cared for by Amanda. He will recieve the medals when his men arrive home and with them.
